It is with the deepest sadness that we must announce Cheryl Ann Naylor passed Sunday morning, Sept. 3, 2017.
Cheryl was born in Pontiac, Ill., on Dec. 30, 1943, and grew up in Danville, Ill., graduating from Indiana University Medical School at Indianapolis in 1964.
Cheryl moved to Champaign, Ill., where she worked in the X-ray department of McKinley Health Center in Urbana.
She met her future husband, John A. Naylor, on a blind date. She had two children who survive her, Kane E. Naylor and his wife, Seunghee, of Columbus, Ohio, and Leanne Dutton and her husband, Tom, of Lillington, N.C. Also surviving is her only grandson, Nicholas Dutton; and her brother, Gary Woodrum, sister-in-law, Lyn, and their two children Eric Woodrum and Kari Maloney and their extended families. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Virginia and Earl Woodrum, and husband John.
Cheryl remained active after her retirement from St. Claire Hospital. She worked as a Yellow Shirt at the Indianapolis Speedway and documented her activities via her favorite hobby: scrapbooking. She referred to herself as a "Snowbird," spending her winters in Florida every year. People found Cheryl easy to befriend and will be sorely missed by all.
