Charles's Story

Charles Edward Cross, 61, of Danville, transitioned from this life on March 20, 2017, at Presence Samaritan. Charles attended Garfield Elementary, North Ridge Jr. High and Danville High School. Charles was retired from General Motors. Charles was a nurturer. He enjoyed playing the guitar, making music and playing chess. Above all else, He loved spending time with his grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews; who loved and adored him.
Charles leaves to grieve his absence his daughter, Lanique McClendon; granddaughters, Mia, Angenique and Cartica and grandson/very best friend, Angelo; his sister, Joanne Young and brother, Robert (Edna) Cross; and a host of very special nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Inell Cross; two brothers, Larry and Richard; and a sister, Linda.
A Celebration of Life will commence at noon, Monday, March 27, at New Life Church of Faith, 1419 North Bowman Ave., Danville with officiating Minister Larry L. Cross. Visitation with family present will begin at 11 a.m. until the start of the service. A Public viewing will commence from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, March 26, at Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 304 East Williams Street, Danville. Interment: Spring Hill Cemetery.
