Charlene Brewer, 62, of Danville, went home to be with The Lord on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at her daughter's home, from complications of breast cancer.
Visitation will be on Monday, May 22, at Pape Family Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street in Danville from 4-7 p.m. Services will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23 at Pape's with Pastor William Wiggins officiating. Following services, Charlene will be laid to rest at Spring Hill Cemetery.
Charlene was born on Aug. 2, 1954, in Danville, to Charles and Arlene (Ray) Neal. She attended Danville grade schools and DHS, graduating and attending classes to become a CNA. Upon achieving her certification, Charlene worked at Vermilion Manor and Colonial Manor Nursing Homes for several years. After leaving the healthcare industry, she went to work at KIK where she worked on the line for 23 years, until her retirement in March of this year. Charlene enjoyed working crossword puzzles while drinking her Pepsi and watching The Lifetime Network. She also loved Elvis Presley.
Charlene married Gilbert Brewer in the early seventies, and though they later divorced, maintained a friendship throughout the years.
Surviving is a daughter, Traci (Roy) Amos; two grandchildren: Clayton Brewer and Colin Amos; and a brother, Todd (Zina) Neal. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers: Charles "Eddie" Neal and Terry Neal.
