Carolyn Sue Dazey, 76, of Hoopeston, passed away at 10:21 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17, 2016, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, Ill.
Sue was born Oct. 24, 1939, in Hoopeston, the daughter of Elmer and Bernice (Matthews) Martin.
She married Kenneth Willie Dazey on Dec. 2, 1964, in Rossville, Ill. He preceded her in death on Nov. 16, 2012.
She is survived by daughters Ann Schorr of Middleville, Mich., Theresa Dazey of Phoenix, Ariz.; two grandchild, Katie Schorr and Morgan Williams; significant other, Tom Richter. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Mary Martin Kwarta; stepmother, Maxine Martin.
Sue was a member of Chestnut Street Church of Christ in Hoopeston. She enjoyed playing cards, loved to sing, croquet, volunteering to help children with reading and spending time with family and friends.
A Celebration of Life for Carolyn Sue Dazey will be at noon Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Blurton Funeral Home in Hoopeston, with Pastor Sid Payne officiating. Visitation will be 10 a.m.-noon Saturday at the funeral home.
