Bradley J. Dukes, 55, of Kingman, Ind., passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family on Sept. 9, 2016. He was born on April 12, 1961, to Mary Ruth and the late Ernest "Gene" Dukes.
He attended Oakwood Schools and graduated from Fairbury Cropsey High School in 1979. Brad was proud to have been a member of Central Laborers Local Nos. 624 and 703 for more than 30 years, until his retirement due to cancer in 2014. He enjoyed time outside, his garden, the Green Bay Packers, was a hard worker and loved his family, wife and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Darla (Goins) Dukes, whom he married on Oct. 24, 1998; a granddaughter whom he raised as his own, Aaliyah Benedict; two brothers, Larry (Chris) Dukes of Oregon and Ben (Karen) Dukes of Kingman; a sister, Karen (Tom Lomax Sr.) Nelson of Tilton, Ill.; his stepdaughters, Brandy (J.T.) Booe, Heidi (Jack Gearlds) Clayton, Megan (Damon) Albright and Brooke Clayton; numerous nieces and nephews; special nieces and nephews, Levi, Zach, Melinda, Shaun, Alan, and Michael; many grandchildren, Alana (Zach), Angel, Zakk, Miles, Justin, Kadee, Emma, Hannah, Aubrey, Braden, and Aaliyah; and great grandchildren, Sophia, Embry, and Petra.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gene; both sets of grandparents; a brother, Stevie; and many friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016, from 6-8 p.m. (Indiana time) with the service following at 8 p.m. at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S. 1st Street, in Kingman with Pastor Brian Newby officiating.
