Betty LaDene (Murray) Gerard, 83, of Glendale, Ariz., formerly of Georgetown, was accepted into the arms of our dear Lord on June 12, 2017.
She was born Aug. 25, 1933, in Danville, Ill., to Vernon and Cora Murray. They preceded her in death.
Betty married Norman Gerard in Georgetown on Dec. 29, 1953. He also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Tom) Chrisman; three grandchildren, Macie, Blake and Whitney Chrisman; her sister, Jan (Bob) Trembley; and two nieces, Melissa (Chad) Supp and Jennifer (Bobby) Todd and their families.
Betty was a faithful member of First United Methodist Church of Glendale, Ariz. She also was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, The Red Hatters and a prior member of the Junior Women's Club.
No one was a stranger to Betty. She loved people of all walks of life and received great joy in babysitting children. She took much pride in being included as a part of the extended family of Ray and Deb Wellman, Craig and Diane Catney, and Mike and Shirley Deen.
A celebration of Betty's life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 17, at Sunset's Houghton-Leasure Funeral Home, 200 E. West St., Georgetown, with Pastor Matt Filicsky will officiate. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Saturday prior to her service at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest in Georgetown Cemetery.
