TILTON - Betty E. Conaway, 83, of Tilton, went to be the Lord at 8:02 p.m. March 15, 2017, at Presence USMC in Danville.
Betty was born on Dec. 28, 1933, in Jackson, Ohio, the daughter of Willard and Mabel Weston Stephenson.
She married Mark Conaway on Aug. 21, 1970, in Danville. He preceded her in death on May 15, 2006.
Survivors include: three sons, Steve (Debbie) Robertson of Washington, Donald (Brenda Masulis) Robertson of Danville, and David Robertson of Danville; one daughter, Teresa Evans of Danville; two sisters, Yvonne Aultman of Dayton, Ohio, and Martha Highland of Dayton, Ohio; five grandchildren, Tisha Feinstein, April (Jason Gonzalez) Robertson, Brandy (Dale Brandenburg) Robertson, Brock (Janette) Evans, and Lance (Preslee Wheeler) Evans; and 10 great-grandkids. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Willard Stephenson Jr.; stepmom, Beulah Stephenson; and one great-grandchild, Andrew McNew.
She had retired from GE. Betty had worked at McCalls Magazine as a secretary. She was an avid Illini basketball fan. Betty enjoyed making quilts and cooking. She had a green thumb and loved taking care of her plants. Most of all, Betty loved spending time with her family.
Funeral services: 11 a.m. Monday, March 20, at Robison Chapel in Catlin with Ramona Logan officiating. Burial in Davis Cemetery in Fairmount. Visitation is from 10-11 a.m. one hour prior to the services at Robison Chapel in Catlin. On-line condolences at www.robisonchapel.com.
