Beatrice "Bea" Rose O'Brien, 84, of Danville died at 10:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, at home following an extended illness.
She was born Sept. 2, 1932, at Fort Wayne, Ind., the daughter of George C. and Alexa G. (Weber) Jaeger.
Bea was a 1950 graduate of Fort Wayne Central Catholic High School and Holy Central School of Nursing at St. Mary's College, South Bend, Ind. She was a registered nurse at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis, St. Elizabeth Hospital and Lake View Hospital in Danville.
Bea married Robert L. O'Brien June 26, 1954, in Muncie, Ind. He survives.
Also surviving are five children, Terry O'Brien of Atlanta, Ga., Vincent (Mary) O'Brien and Jeffrey (Debra) O'Brien, both of Danville, Ill., Julie (Rick) Welch of Peoria, Ill., and Lucy (Eric) McKinnon of Wadsworth, Ill.; two brothers, Robert A. Jaeger of Prince Frederick, Md., and Carl (Sue) Jaeger of Holland, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Her parents, a sister and two grandsons preceded her in death.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. CST Saturday, Jan. 14, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Danville with Father Ted Pracz officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be at a later date in Danville National Cemetery.
