Barbara Pastrikos, 82, of Danville, passed away Sunday Aug. 20, 2017.
Visitation will be 10-11a.m., Friday, Aug. 25, at Pape Family Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams St., Danville. Service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Pape's, with Pastor Kent Tibben officiating and honors by Danville American Legion Post 210.
Barbara was born March 31, 1935, in Danville to Emerson and Dorothy (Talley) Tabor. She attended Danville High School, and after graduating, enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving on the USNTC San Diego. It was there that she met her husband, George Pastrikos, who also was serving on the USNTC. They were married Aug. 1, 1956, at the chapel on the base. George preceded her in 2013.
After marriage, the couple moved to New York and then to Danville in the 1960s. She worked at Sears for about 10 years, and later working at the Vermilion County Nursing Home, Danville VA and later retiring from Elder Beerman. She loved to watch her old western shows.
Barbara leaves behind her son, Michael; brother, Don Tabor; sister, Cynthia Belton; nephew and niece Doug and Dori. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
