DANVILLE - William L. Watson, 81, of Danville went to heaven to be with the love of his life, Wilma A. Watson, at 8:36 a.m. on January 30, 2018, at Danville Care in Danville, Ill.
William was born September 3, 1936, the son of Gerald and Pansy E. (Newman) Watson.
William married Wilma Dudley on May 27, 1960, and she preceded him in death in April of 2015.
William is survived by his son, Roger (OnnaLee) Ford; one brother, Jerry (Barb) Watson Sr.; one sister, Geraldine; a daughter-like friend, Frankey Mae Basso; two granddaughters; one grandson; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; five nieces; five nephews; as well as many great-nieces and great-nephews.
William is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Wilma; as well as a daughter and one grandson.
A Celebration of Life will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, February 4, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL. Rod Godley will officiate. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday, February 4, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville on Monday, February 5, as a private committal.
