William "Bill"'s Story
William "Bill" Willett passed away at 11:39 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016 at home surrounded by his loved ones. Bill battled cancer for five years. Bill was born to William and Delores (Warrick) Willett Dec. 24, 1952.
Bill married Linda Leann Grubaugh Nov. 2, 2004.
Bill is survived by his mother, Delores Dodson; brother, Monty (Cathy) Willett; sisters: Robin (Bruce) Setser, Alesa (Rachel) Rosenfeld; children, Patty Willett, Krista (Willett) (Mitch) Lunsford, Chris (Willett) (Myndi) McMahon, Daniel (Willett) (Angie) Grubaugh, Matt (Willett) Grubaugh; and nine grandchildren. He also leaves behind his close friend, Jim Pate, and his canine son, Fred D Willett and all his hot rod buddies. He attended school in Stone Bluff, Ind., Danville and Catlin. He is a member of United Steel Workers Local 975 and served as president for several years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hot rodding, drag racing, car shows and riding in his '69 SS/RS Camaro. He is preceded in death by his father, William D. Willett; step-father, Claude Dodson; sister, Dianna O'Keefe; and grandparents.
The family would like to honor his wife, Leann, for being by his side and honoring his wishes. We will have a celebration of Life for Bill from 4-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21 at The Edgewood Center at Forest Glen County Park where he will be taking his last ride in his Camaro with his sons by his side.
