Willa Eleanor Moore, 92, of Moravia, Iowa, died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015, at Centerville Nursing and Rehab Center in Centerville, Iowa. She was born June 16, 1923, in McLeansboro, the daughter of Olin Dale Gammon and Retta Louise (Woodruff) Gammon. She married Val Moore Feb. 6, 1943; he preceded her in death. She is survived by three sons, Andy Moore and wife Vicki of Moravia, Iowa, Martin T. Moore of Mansfield, Texas and Kenneth J. Moore of Tulsa, Okla.; four grandchildren, Jeff Moore and wife Nichole of Centerville, Iowa, Jason Moore and wife Marci of Moravia, Iowa and Derek Moore of Dallas; and Whitney Moore of Milwaukee; three great-grandchildren, Kelsey Moore, Kaitlyn Moore and Kale Moore; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her step-father, L.M. Mills; and two brothers, John and Bill Mills. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star and United Methodist Church. She graduated from McLeansboro High School in 1941. After high school she worked for a brief period of time as a legal secretary at a law firm. She enjoyed many hobbies throughout her lifetime, especially gardening, tennis and playing bridge. Private services were held at Lange Funeral Home and Crematory in Centerville. A graveside service was held 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at Odd Fellows Cemetery with the Reverend Gary Whipple officiating.
