Terry Wayne Messmore, 71, passed away April 13, 2017. He was born April 6, 1946, to Robert and Mildred Messmore.
Terry was an active member of the Vermilion County Fair for many years with a focus around the horse arena. You would often see him participating, attending, judging, or announcing horse functions throughout the county.
Terry was an unforgettable man. The stories he told were often exaggerated to the point where you couldn't help but laugh and be entertained. He was also very loving and accepting. He loved his family dearly and was extremely proud of them.
Terry was a lover of music. He mostly played bass, steel guitar and sang. He played with many different musicians throughout the years but enjoyed his time most when playing with his family in "My Three Sons & Mickey."
Terry married Judy Messmore on June 18, 1965. They were happily married for 45 years before her passing in 2010. He was also preceded in death by his mother, Mildred, an infant daughter, and grandson, Jerry Messmore. He is survived by his father, Robert; three sons, Cheyenne Messmore, Laramie (Linda) Messmore and Jason (Lindsey) Messmore; grandkids, Austin, Dallas, Kristina, Kyle, Brody, Shelbie, Austin, Bryson, and Chloe; great-grandkids, Brayden, Romie, and Atlas; sister, Mickey (Gary) Haton; two brothers, Larry (Bonnie) Messmore and Jeff (Pam) Messmore; many nieces and nephews as well as special friends.
A celebration of life will be held at his home in Bismarck on April 22, 2017 at 2 p.m.
