Terry Wayne Gurney, 69, of rural Kingman, died at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017, at Presence USMC. He was born Jan. 4, 1948, in Danville, the son of Robert Wayne and Mary Jane (Farley) Gurney.
He grew up in Danville and was a 1964 graduate of Danville High School, moving to Kingman in 1994. He was an Army veteran in Vietnam and retired from CSX railroad after 34 years. He was a member of Veedersburg American Legion Post No. 288 and VFW Post No. 2395.
Terry married Margaret Depriest Oct. 5, 1990 and she survives. Also surviving are three children, Michele (Leonard) Hoback, Hopedale, Ill., Andrew Stewart, Salem, Ill., and Lynette (Shannon) McCain, Camden, Ariz.; 17 grandchildren; and a great-grandson. His parents, son and sister preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. EDT Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, at First Baptist Church, Covington, Ind., with Andy Harkleroad officiating. Burial in Danville National Cemetery.
