Tamara J. Cox, 68, of McLeansboro, died 2:35 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016, at McLeansboro Health Care & Rehabilitation Center.
Private family graveside services and burial were held 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, 2016, at Concord Cemetery.
She was born May 28, 1948, in McLeansboro, the daughter of Emmett Winston Cox and Lois (Skibinski) Cox.
Tammy was a member of Webb's Chapel Methodist Church. She attended elementary and high school in Benton. Her parents moved to McLeansboro in 1969, where she then attended the Sunshine Center, which later became Trade Industries. Tamara dearly loved her cat "Whiskers." We are looking forward to a glorious reunion when we meet Tamara again in Heaven, see her wonderful smile and hear her sweet laugh.
She is survived by a sister, Joyce Lee and husband Robert of McLeansboro; two nephews, Bryce Kearney of Macedonia and Blake Kearney of Benton; two nieces, Sonya McKeighen of Paoli, Ind., and Shawna Farris of Paoli, Ind.; two great-nieces; three great-nephews; and one great-great-nephew.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Ladonna Kellams; grandparents Ed and Helen Skibinski; and niece Staci Combs.
Memorials may be made to Freedom Baptist Church and will be accepted at Harre Funeral Home or the church.
Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro, is in charge of arrangements.
