Private family graveside services will be held this spring in Willow Grove Cemetery in Buffalo for Sylvia Sutphin, 81 year old resident who passed away peacefully Monday, April 3rd at the Sheridan Memorial Hospital with her family at her side. Donations in Mrs. Sutphin's memory may be made to the Sheridan Senior Center in care of Harness Funeral Home at 351 North Adams Ave. Buffalo, Wyoming. Sylvia Lee Sutphin was born to Charles and Geneva Blades in McLeansboro, Illinois on June 29th, 1935. She grew up and received her education in McLeansboro, where she graduated from high school. After high school she married Frear "Sut" Sutphin and they made their home in McLeansboro for a short time where she worked in the food service industry. In 1960 they moved to Gillette, Wyoming where they raised their four children and "Sut" worked for Shell oil. In 1964 the family moved to Buffalo, where Sylvia continued to working in food service and raise their children. Mr. Sutphin passed away in December of 1974 and Sylvia moved to Clearmont, Wyoming and was married to Bob Trebelcock. Mr. Trebelcock passed away in 1988 and Sylvia moved to Sheridan where she lived until the time of her death.
Sylvia spent much of her time at the Sheridan Senior Center where she enjoyed playing cribbage and dominos. She also enjoyed many crafts such as assembling family photo albums, and was a master quilter. Watching TV was one of her favorite pastimes and any program was worthy of her attention at least once.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Sutphin of Sheridan, Wyoming and Danny Sutphin of Cheyenne, Wyoming; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two daughters, and one sister.
