Sylvia "Shell"'s Story
Sylvia "Shell" Michelle Wilson, 47, of Danville, went home to be with the Lord Oct. 10, 2016.
Sylvia was born on July 30, 1969 in Earle, Ark., the daughter of Robert and Ruth Wilson.
Sylvia was employed by Department of Veterans Affair, Danville, for 14 years. Sylvia often spoke of how loving and supportive her coworkers were to her. She loved shopping on the internet, dinning out and traveling.
Sylvia leaves to cherish her memory her sister and brothers: Brenda (Ralph) Morris, Glenda Wilson, Drucilla (Larry) Hayes, Robert Wilson, and Tywon (Bud) Gourad, all of Danville; Tissia (Charles) Henderson and Prentice Wilson both of Indianapolis; Rachel (Carlos) Cunningham of Champaign; Timmie (Martha) Sanford of Lafayette, Ind.; Dominque Sanford of Decatur, Ill.; and Helen "LeTroy" Sanford, Jessie Sanford, and Lamont Sanford all of Danville. She is also survived by one special great-niece, Emerie Leigh Hoskins of Indianapolis, whom she affectionately referred to as "Her Kid"; a very special friend, Daniel Lee Freeman; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmie and Ruth Sanford; grandmother, Mary Cummings; sisters, Shirley and Valarie; nephews, Tyler and Jeremiah; and great-nephew, Ricky Lee Hoskins III.
A Celebration of Life will commence at 12 noon, Thursday, Oct. 20, at New Life Church of Faith, 1419 North Bowman Ave., Danville. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. until the start of the service.
