Sharon's Story

Sharon Lynn Childress Mildenberger, 63, of Fithian, daughter of Frank and Imogene Canelle Childress, passed away peacefully at home on March 7, 2017, surrounded by her loved ones.
Sharon was born Sept. 7, 1953. She retired as a trauma nurse specialist, which she loved.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Jerry Mildenberger; her two children, Clayton William (Heather) Brown and James Gale Mildenberger; her grandson, Colin Michael Brown; her mother, Imogene Canelle Childress; her two brothers, Frank (Patty) Childress and Clifford (Cindy) Childress; two nieces and two nephews; two step-nieces and two step-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Franklin H. Childress; her grandparents, Clayton and Irene Childress, and Fred and Josephine Canelle.
She was a longtime member of Vermilion Heights Christian Church.
A visitation will be on 5-7 p.m. Thursday, March 9, 2017, at Pape Family Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams St. in Danville. Services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 10 at Pape's with Pastor Rod Godley officiating. Burial will follow in the O'Bryan Family Cemetery in Sadorus.
