Sandra Sue Kimberlin, 75, of Danville, left us suddenly on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2016 at Presence USMC in Danville.
Visitation for Sandy will be from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 2, at Pape Family Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams Street, in Danville. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 3, at Gundy Cemetery.
Sandy was born on March 4, 1941, in Danville, to Carl and Evelyn (Schultz) Schlunaker. She attended Danville schools through her sophomore year before falling in love with her soul mate, Alfred. The two were married by Rev. Wolfe on June 14, 1957 at Four Square Gospel Church in Danville, and have been inseparable ever since. She was the best wife and homemaker anyone could ask for and enjoyed working in her yard and around the house. She had many collections, and loved driving around in both her little car and her big car. Sandy was never met a stranger, had a heart made of gold, and was never without her pets; her dog Jake will greatly miss her.
Sandy is survived by her husband of 59 years, Alfred "Sonny" Kimberlin Jr.; her son, Jimmy Don Kimberlin; four sister-in-laws, Janice Garland, Sandy Kimberlin, Vickie Watson, and Patricia Smith; a cousin, Sharon Prescott; and her close, lifetime friends, Alice Miller, Joyce Kennedy, Jan Chalkos. She was preceded in death by her parents and her mother and father-in-law.
Messages and memories may be left on our website at www.papefuneral.com, or on the Pape Family Funeral Home Facebook page. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Sandra's name to Vermilion County Museum Society.
