Sandra J. Hughes, 76, of Rossville, Ill., passed away at noon Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at Heritage Health Therapy and Senior Living in Hoopeston.
She was born June 6, 1941, the daughter of Orville and Doris (Barragree) McCalla.
She is survived by three daughters, Glenda (Brian) Cremeens of Rossville, Ill., Tammy Hays (special friend, Buddy Brotherton) of Urbana, Ill., and Debbie Hughes (Linda Rabe) of Boscobel, Wis.; two sisters, Linda Lockhart of Venice, Fla., and Mary Jane (Kenneth) Adams of Covington, Ind.; two brothers, Daniel McCalla of Hoopeston, and James McCalla of Hoopeston; one sister-in-law, Sandy McCalla of Milford, Ill.; four grandchildren, Jill (Joseph) Johanningsmeier, Kaylee (Jeff) Beer, Guy Dale (Jennifer) Foster, and Logan Foster; three great-grandchildren, Emmalynn Jo Reiners, Levi John Johanningsmeier and Cole Mason Beer; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Donna Baughman and Judith (Athel) Burton; two brothers, John McCalla and Orville Richard McCalla Jr.; a brother-in-law, Stephen Lockhart; one son-in-law, Mike Hays; and two nephews, Travis Allen McCalla and Greg Braughman.
Sandy worked at General Electric in Danville for 23 years and then worked at Con Agra until her retirement.
A visitation will be 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, December 22, at Anderson Funeral Home, 427 E. Main St., Hoopeston. The service will follow at 1 p.m. with Larry Baughn officiating. The burial will be at Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston.
