Roy M. Houser, Jr., 76, of Danville, passed away at home with family by his side on March 1, 2017. Roy was born on July 2, 1940, in Hoopeston, the son of Roy Sr. and Grace Houser.
Roy married twice once to Nancy Ponder. He later married Rita Haworth.
Roy leaves behind one brother, Fred Houser of Tennessee; one sister, Susie, of Paris, Ill.; two daughters, Diane Lopez of Danville and Rhonda (Dillian) Cagle of Georgetown; three sons, Eugene Houser, Charles Houser Sr., both of Danville, and DJ Tinder of Tilton; one stepson, Jason (Jennifer) Grant of Danville; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one very special friend, Don Kiger.
Roy worked for the Railroad, he later left there and started his own business where he worked as a mechanic in Westville in his own shop R&H Garage. Roy loved fishing, NASCAR and dirt track racing. Roy was a real big jokester always having fun.
A visitation for Roy will be held at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, from 1-2 p.m. on Wednesday March 8. Service will be at 2 p.m. at funeral home. Cremation to follow per Roy's wishes.
