Rose M. Roberts, 75, of Martinton, passed away Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017, at her home in Martinton.
She was born March 19, 1942, the daughter of Vernell and Ina Mae Hall Bell.
She married Philip Roberts in Kankakee on Nov. 11, 1961. He preceded her in death on Nov. 6, 2010.
Surviving are one son, Philip Glenn (Ruth) Roberts Jr; one granddaughter, Jessica (fiancé, Carl Winans) Roberts of Catlin, Ill.; one great-grandson, Colt Winans of Catlin; three brothers, Harold Bell of Rhinelander, Wis., Vernon (Linda) Bell of Goreville, Ill., and Jimmy (Deborah) Bell of Martinton; one sister, Carol Darlene (Bill) Bishop of Martinton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, both parents and one sister, Brenda Shell.
Rose loved cooking, birdwatching, puzzles and going for rides. She enjoyed attending her great-nephew's basketball games and spending time with her granddaughter and great-grandson.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, at Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9, at Blue Funeral Home in Goreville, Ill. A burial will follow at Cana Cemetery in Goreville. An hour prior visitation will take place 2-3 p.m. Wednesday before the funeral service at Blue Funeral Home.
