Robert Dean Spiering, 67, of Covington, died suddenly Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017, at home. He was born July 20, 1950, in Danville, Ill., the son of Henry E. and Mary Louise (Kinney) Spiering.
Bob was a life resident of Covington, graduating from Covington High School in 1968. He served two years in the Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a carpenter all of his life and had been employed at Olin, City of Covington and Fountain Foundry.
Surviving are two brothers, Wayne (Jo Lynn) Spiering and Ronald Spiering, both of Covington; a sister, Connie (Marty) Lenfesty of Danville; a sister-in-law, Brenda Spiering of Covington; 17 nieces and nephews; 28 great-nieces and great-nephews. His parents, and brother, Charles Spiering, preceded him in death.
Services: 2 p.m. EDT Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at Shelby Funeral Home with Andy Harkleroad officiating. Visitation: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
