Robert "Bob"'s Story
VEEDERSBURG, Ind. - Robert "Bob" Lee Branam, 72, of rural Veedersburg, passed away at St. Vincent Hospice Center, Indianapolis, at 4:12 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2017.
Bob was born in Danville, Ill., on February 3, 1945. He was the son of the late Russell and Leatha Grace (Collier) Branam.
He was raised in the Mellott area, graduating from Richland Township School in 1963. He lived most of his adult life in rural Veedersburg.
Bob formerly worked at Flexel in Covington for over 35 years until his retirement IN 1997. While working at Flexel, he also farmed in rural Veedersburg, south of Hillsboro.
Bob enjoyed the outdoors where he liked to camp and fish. He enjoyed playing cards with relatives and friends and gardening. While visiting the national parks in the U.S., Bob enjoyed hiking in the mountains.
Bob was formerly married to Sharon F. Summers.
Bob leaves behind his two sons, Barry Branam, Carbondale, Colo., and Brady Branam, Crawfordsville, Ind.; a granddaughter, whom he cherished, Zoey Branam; three nieces, Diane Barr, Linda Switzer and Bonnie Randolph; a nephew, Russell Switzer; a great-niece and two great-nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Switzer.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Hillsboro, Ind., on Saturday, December 9, from noon until service time at 2 p.m. EST. He will be inurned with his parents at a later date in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro.
