Regina Rapp, 92, of Belle Rive, passed away 7:35 a.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center in Mt. Vernon. She was born May 17, 1922, in Cunningham, Kan., the daughter of Bernard Rottering and Helena (Bugner) Rottering. She married Lawrence W. Rapp on April 14, 1952, in Kingman, Kan., and he preceded her in death on May 16, 2006. She was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Dahlgren. She was a homemaker. She loved baking, gardening and playing cards. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Ann’s Altar Sodality. She is survived by three daughters, Connie Unfried and husband John of Norris City, Janice Richardson and husband Curtis of Dahlgren and Theresa Webb and husband Keith of McLeansboro; two sons, Jim Rapp and wife Rita of Belle Rive and Linus Rapp and wife Adeline of Belle Rive; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Juliana “Judee” Dodge of South Hutchenson, Kan. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence; brothers, Father Augustine OSB, Norbet Aloysius Rottering and Herman Rottering; and sisters, Sister Teresa Rottering OP, Martha Lyman and Bernardine Voss. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Dahlgren with Father Slawomir Ptak officiating. Burial was at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Cemetery in Dahlgren. Visitation was held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, at Harre Funeral Home in Dahlgren.
