Phyllis Freeland, 85 of Danville, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017.
Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday, October 8, at Pape Family Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams St., Danville. Service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, October 9, at Pape Family Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Filicsky officiating.
Phyllis was born February 22, 1932, in Danville to Walter and Ruby (Atkinson) Warburton.
She graduated from Danville High School in 1949, and worked at Millikin Cleaners before dedicating her life to her family. She was a long-time member of Lincoln United Methodist Church, which later became First United Methodist Church, where she also was treasurer for the women's group at the church. She enjoyed volunteering to do nails at Logan Health Care, and loved to cook, especially the big Sunday family dinners.
Phyllis married Kenneth Freeland on September 12, 1953, and shared 57 years together before his passing in 2010.
She leaves behind three children, Kevin (Sarah) Freeland, Brian (Sherry) Freeland, and Greg (Sherry) Freeland; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and numerous special friends. She was preceded by her parents, husband, two brothers and a grandson.
