Peggy Mason Peggy Antonia Mason transformed from this life to glory, surrounded by her family, at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2018, in Danville, Ill.
Peggy was born January 13, 1945, in Evanston, Ill., to the union of Jannette and Clifford Sloan Sr.
Peggy graduated from Georgetown High school in 1963 and College of Lake County with a teaching paraprofessional in 1982.
Peggy was formerly married to Frank Mason Sr.
Peggy leaves five surviving children, Frank, Alfonso (Yulanda), Robert of Danville, Aaron and John of Austin, Texas; and a special granddaughter she raised, Lanna Mason of Austin, Texas. Peggy had a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; eight surviving sisters, Dorothy Morefield of Sacramento, Calif.; Nacolia Dudley of San Francisco, Calif., Carole Stone of Tustin, Calif., Angela (Ceola) Clark of Burleson, Texas, Rose Sloan of Austin, Texas, Mollie (Tom) Owens of Hamilton, N.C., Esther (Lee) Crawley of Rockford, Ill., and Teresa Jackson of Houston, Texas; and a brother, John Sloan of Champaign. Peggy leaves to cherish her memory her special friend, Shelia Watson, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Peggy worked at Crosspoint and Mary Miller Junior High.
Peggy's hobbies included reading the Bible, spending time with her grandchildren, crafts and listening to Moody Radio.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Clifford Sloan Jr.
The family would like to send a special thanks to Carle Hospice nurses and Marjorie Abrajano.
Peggy will be cremated upon her request. A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, October 8, at Winter Park, Danville.
