Peggy Jean Link, 86, of McLeansboro, passed away at 12:19 a.m. Monday, Nov. 6, 2017, at Hamilton Memorial Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in McLeansboro.
She was born Oct. 18, 1931, in Eldorado, the daughter of James and Inez Oldham Viers. She married Jack Elton Link and he preceded her in death on Oct. 22, 2014.
Peggy was a homemaker.
She is survived by sons, David Link and wife Deborrah of Macedonia and Mark Link and wife Lisa of McLeansboro; daughter-in-law, Sharon Gibbs Link of McLeanbsoro; four grandchildren, Dr. Chad Link and wife Dr. Jamie Davison of Evansville, Ind., Adam Link and wife Ashley of McLeansboro, Latricia Link of McLeansboro and Levi Link and wife Megan of Dahlgren; six great-grandchildren, Brennan, Kathryn and Tristan, all of Evansville, Ind., and James, Michael and Emily of McLeansboro; and one sister, Joan Deitz and husband Bob of Mt. Vernon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Dennis Link; three brothers, Vernon, James and David Viers; and three sisters, Verdela Hood, Wanda Lee Hartman and Thelma Clark.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Robert Sefried officiating. Burial will be at Little Springs Cemetery near McLeansboro.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
For those who wish, memorials may be made to the Hospice of Southern Illinois or to the Alzheimer's Disease Foundation and will be accepted at the Gholson Funeral Home.
