Osborn “Ozzie” McMahon, 88, of McLeansboro, died 7:40 p.m. Thursday, July 9, 2015, at Hamilton Memorial Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in McLeansboro. He was born July 7, 1927, in Broughton, the son of Andrew Jackson McMahon and Violet Minnie (Campbell) McMahon. He married Viola Jean Campbell; she died Oct. 3, 1994. He is survived by a son, Randall McMahon of Pinckneyville; a sister, Dorothy Ann Pollard of Carmi; three brothers, Louis Gene McMahan and wife Wilma of Mt. Vernon, Buddy McMahan and William “Bill” McMahan both of McLeansboro; a grandson, Race McMahon of Mt. Vernon; three granddaughters, Deann McMahon and Kori J. McMahon, both of Mt. Vernon and Sheyanne McMahon of Benton; a sister-in-law, Connie McMahan of Decatur; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a sister, Lucille; a brother, Donald; and a brother-in-law, Don Pollard. He was a self-employed car salesman. He was of the Presbyterian faith. He loved horse racing. He will be cremated as per his personal request and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial of ashes will be at IOOF Cemetery in McLeansboro. Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro is in charge of all of the arrangements.
