Nona M. Sprouls, 85, of Danville passed away on March 5, 2017 at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village in Chrisman.
She was born on May 11, 1931 in Whittington, Ill., the daughter of Edwin and Nettie (Morris) Perry. She married Harold Sprouls on Sept. 10, 1950 at St. James United Methodist Church in Danville. Harold preceded her in death in 1989.
Nona will be deeply missed by her children: David Sprouls, John (Susan) Sprouls and Laura Cummins (Don) Badolato; sister-in-law, Dorothea Perry; grandchildren: Michelle (Curtis) Webb, Erica (Kevin) Fleetwood, Shannon Sprouls, David Sprouls Jr. and Will and Raegan Sprouls; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son, infant daughter, brother, Loyd Perry, sister, Bernice Kilgore and a great-grandchild, Katie.
Nona graduated from Danville High School and went back to work for District #118 for 21 years. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, member of Moose Lodge, Cannon PTA President, President of the Business and Professional Women's Club and President of United Methodist Women. Nona was a life-long member of St. James United Methodist Church.
A Celebration of Nona's life will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 10, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Danville, with Rev. Randall Robinson officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, March 9, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park.
