Nedra L. Metheney, 85, of McLeansboro, passed away at 8:15 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 24, 2016, at Mt. Vernon Countryside Manor in Mt. Vernon.
She was born on April 2, 1931, in McLeansboro, the daughter of Harry Adams and Grace (Bridwell) Adams.
She was a homemaker. She married A.J. Metheney on Oct. 7, 1967, in McLeansboro. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in McLeansboro.
She loved to do laundry, work crossword puzzles, and play board games with her husband A.J.
Survivors include her husband, A.J. Metheney of McLeansboro; two sons, David Reed and wife Linda of Longview, Texas, and Kevin Metheney and wife Jami of Georgetown; two granddaughters, Mallory Glowski and husband Justin, and Courtney Metheney; one grandson, Andrew Metheney; one great-granddaughter, Maci Glowski; and two great-grandsons, Coulton and Braden Glowski.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Alan and Jimmy Adams.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in McLeansboro, with the Rev. Bill Reed officiating. Burial was at I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro is in charge of all arrangements.
