Nancy S. Phillips, 63, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 1:30 A.M. September 13, 2017 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She was born July 31, 1954 in Clovis, New Mexico to the late Gale and Joan (McAlister) Blanks.
Nancy is survived by her children, Benjamin Phillips and fiancee, Krystal Dubberke of St. Louis, Missouri, Rachael Dobbs and husband, Christopher of St. Louis, Missouri, and Amy Phillips of Charleston, Illinois; grandchildren, Abigail Dobbs and Alexander Dobbs, both of St. Louis, Missouri; and significant other, Tom Saylor of Bonnie, Illinois.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her brothers, Dennis Blanks and Richard Blanks.
Nancy loved growing plants, tending to her flowers, and had an amazing green thumb that would bring hummingbirds and butterflies to visit. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and her beloved cat, Tyler. She taught her children many things, including the value of hard work, to have a fierce devotion to family, and to always be kind. Nancy was a beautiful soul and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held Wednesday, September 20, 2017 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Memorial Service time at Newell Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Mr. Michael Sheets officiating.
