Myrtle E. Duncan, 93, of Route 1, Dahlgren, died 11:05 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016, at Herrin Hospital in Herrin. She was born Aug. 19, 1922, in Greenbush, Mich., the daughter of Charles F. and Ruth F. Bailey Wisser. She married George Duncan; he preceded her in death. She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Connie Duncan of McLeansboro; 11 grandchildren, Terry Duncan of San Francisco, Larry Duncan of Benton, Dakota Duncan of McLeansboro, Jesse Duncan of Eldorado, Debra Sue Wyant of Akin, Katrina Bennett of Herrin, April Lindsay of Marion, Deshea Corse of Perryville, Mo., Donnie Bishop of Florida, Robin Rush of Florida, and Silver Rush of Florida; several great-grandchildren; and a number of great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, two daughters, three brothers and a sister. Mrs. Dunan was a homemaker. Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 15, at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with the Rev. Robert Sefried officiating. Burial was at IOOF Cemetery, McLeansboro. Visitation was held from 6 p.m. until the time of services on Friday at the funeral home. Gholson Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
