Morris "Moe" Dennis, 77, of Enfield, passed away 7:35 a.m. Monday, May 15, 2017, at his residence.
Visitation was 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, May 19, at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
Funeral was 12 p.m. Friday, May 19 at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Pastor Ruby McDowell and Pastor Alan Spangler officiating. Interment was at Enfield Cemetery in Enfield.
He was born June 26, 1939, in Enfield, the son of Benjamin Franklin Dennis and Opal Marie (Nation) Dennis.
He worked as an operator and driller.
He married Wanda Lucille Lee on May 25, 1973. She preceded him in death on Feb. 2, 2013.
He is survived by three sons, Larry Bowman and wife Cathy of Springfield, Gary Bowman and wife Toni of McLeansboro and Mike Bowman of McLeansboro; one son-in-law, Marvin Heimer of Albion; one sister, Kay Gates of Sidell, La.; grandchildren, Bryan Bowman, Courtney Locke (John) of Springfield, Mo., Alicia (Marty) Webb, Jody (Steve) Braden, Clint Bowman (Rachel), Misty (Devan) Welch, Phillip (April) Bowman and Brianna (Luke) Thomas; 13 great-grandchildren, Lardon, Garrett, Tinlea, Sky, Hallie, Peyton, Rylie, Maxwell, Layla, Jalen, Tessa, Jace and Mabry; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Wanda; two brothers, Shad and Benny Dennis; sister, Norma Enlow; daughter, Becky Heimer; and daughter-in-law, Phyllis Bowman.
Memorials may be made to Christian Chapel Church or Enfield Masonic Lodge
