Minnie E. Clawson, 96, of Covington, Ind., died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, at her home following an extended illness.
She was born August 29, 1921, in Covington, the daughter of Frank Millard and Daisy Leah (Smith) Vickery.
Minnie was a life resident of Covington area and a 1942 graduate of Perrysville High School. She was a member of First Church of Christ, VFW Ladies Auxiliary and Friendship Circle Center. She was a former member of DAR and Coffeenians. She enjoyed church and Sunday school.
Minnie married Frank Pershing Clawson on October 27, 1945, in Covington. He died August 6, 2000.
Surviving are two children, Clifford (Linda) Clawson and Rita Sams (Jeff Ping), both of Covington; a grandson, John C. Thomas; a great-granddaughter, Gabriella V. Thomas; five step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents and brother, Frank S. Vickery, preceded her in death.
Funeral services: 1 p.m. EST Friday February 16, at First Church of Christ with Pastor Mike Harshman officiating. Burial in Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation: 11 a.m. EST until the time of services.
