Michael Alan Guymon, 69, of Danville, passed away at home Friday, February 9, 2018, with his wife by his side.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, February 14, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 824 E. Main St., Danville, with service to follow at 11 a.m. at the church with Pastor Kent Tibben officiating. Burial to follow at Lutheran Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post 210.
Michael was born February 9, 1949, in Danville to Melvin and Joyce Guymon.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Linda Guymon; mother, Joyce Guymon; sister, Jane (Rob) Carter; children, Michelle (Michael) Lewis, Jason (Karen) Guymon, Terri (Craig) Forcier, Jimmy Rouhan, Bonnie (Dean) Lavoie, Collen Rouhan; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Michael graduated from Danville High School in 1967, and served in the Air Force from 1968 to 1974. He attended Concordia University and received his certification to be a Lutheran Lay Minister in 2000, along with his Bachelor of Arts in 2000. He attended Fort Wayne Seminary. He was the pastor at Sherman Park Lutheran Church in Milwaukee Wis., and a pastor at Zoar Lutheran Church in Elmwood Park, Ill. He retired in Danville in 2011.
He loved family, camping and was a big fan of the Chicago Cubs.
