Maurice E. Ziebart, 81, of Danville, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018.
Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday, January 21, at Pape Family Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams St. in Danville. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, January 22, at Pape's with Father Bo officiating, and honors by American Legion Post 210, Legion Riders and Patriot Riders. Burial will follow at St. Johns Cemetery in L'Erable, Ill.
Maury was born on October 3, 1936, to Glen Ziebart and Helen King Ziebart.
In 1953, Maury married Marilyn Ruth Holt in Hoopeston and they had four children. In later years, Maury was married to Cheryl Bechtel, who passed in 2015, and is currently married to Jessica Davis Ziebart.
Maury served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps and was stationed at Fort Polk, La., Fort Benning, Ga., and Fort Carson, Colo. He has been occupied in various trades in Vermilion county before retiring as a forklift mechanic with MH Equipment in Danville.
He had many hobbies and interests such as hunting, fishing, Harley Davidson motorcycles, traveling, driving red cars fast, RV camping, going to flea markets and auctions, and doing Las Vegas.
Maury is survived by his wife Jessie; four children, Rick (Judy) Ziebart, Alan Ziebart, Shannon (Randy) Merrill, and Greg Ziebart; and 42 grandchildren. He also is survived by his sisters, Shirley Frazier and Christine Lotz; and brothers Ralph Ziebart, David Ziebart and Jerry Galyen. He was preceded in death by his parents; his second wife, Cheryl; and his grandson Matthew.
