Mary A. Vinson, 97, of Danville, formerly of Collison, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018.
Mary was born May 29, 1920, in Jamesburg, Ill., the daughter of Homer and Margery (Marble) Crawford.
Mary married Theodore Vinson on July 27, 1941. He preceded her in death in 1990.
Mary leaves behind her daughter, Rebecca Leibach of Danville, and her son, Bruce (Mary Ann) Vinson of Collison; three grandchildren, Gordon (Dinah) Clingan, Theodore Vinson and Sara (Craig) Tuggle; three great-grandchildren, Meghan Vinson, Makenzie Vinson and Ethan Tuggle; two step-grandchildren, Josh Kinney and Dustin Kinney.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one sister, Sara Sullivan; one brother, Harold Crawford; one son-in-law, Bill Leibach; one great-grandson, Kyle Clingan.
Mary graduated from Potomac High School in 1938. She went to Eastern Illinois College as well. Mary was a member of Collison United Methodist Church, but had been attending St. James United Methodist Church. She enjoyed quilting, knitting and spending time with family.
Celebration of Mary's life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 10, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville. Pastor Justin Snider will officiate. Burial will be in Emberry Cemetery in Collison. Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
