Mary Frances Miller-Hauf, 84, of Danville, while surrounded by her family, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017.
Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, at Pape Family Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams St., Danville. Services will follow at 1 p.m. at Pape's, with Pastor Darin Perkins officiating. Following services, Mary will be laid to rest at Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
Mary was born Feb. 9, 1932, in Brighton, Tenn., to Walter and Eliza (Reynolds) Newman.
Mary was a beautician/owner of the Tilton Beauty shop, and later worked as a LPN at Lakeview hospital until 1987, then at Lake Wales Hospital in Florida until she retired in 1994.
She was a member of United Church of Tilton, past president of Tilton PTA, former member of Sweet Adelines and a hospice volunteer. She enjoyed bowling, traveling spending time with her family and reading her Bible every morning.
Mary married Fred Miller on Aug. 25, 1951, and celebrated over 40 years of marriage until his passing in 1992. She then married Joseph Hauf in 1995. He passed away in 2006.
Survivors include her sons, David (Debra) Miller and Charles (Lisa) Miller; daughters, Susan Murphy and Connie (Hank) Krabbe; sisters, Myrtle Mae Wallace, Lula "Tiny" Walsh and Betty Booth; special friend, George Snowling; along with eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Fred and Joseph; brothers, Robert, Walter and Aubrey Newman; and sisters Ruth Snowling and Lucille Wade.
