Martha's Story

Martha Bell Tyler made her transition on Friday, June 30, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Gardenview Manor, surrounded by her family.
Martha was born on Dec. 18, 1936 to Dank and Maybell Brown in Webb, Miss.
Martha was a devoted mother and grandmother and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Before her health declined, Martha also enjoyed gardening and providing care for the small children in her family. For 15 years, Martha worked at Vermilion Manor Nursing home, where she also retired from.
Martha leaves to cherish, her only living sibling, Willie (Leroy) Robinson, who dedicated much of her time caring for her sister during her time of sickness; two grandchildren, Cortez (Lashauna) Brown and Sharika Brown; seven great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Dank and Maybell Brown; her only child, Delois Robinson; and her siblings, Selena Gordon, Mary Jones, Bessie Chestnut, Jack Brown, Ernest Brown, Roosevelt Brown and M.W. Brown.
Funeral Services for Martha Bell Tyler will commence at 12 noon on Monday, July 10 at Leek and Sons Funeral Home, 304 East Williams Street, Danville, IL 61832. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. until the start time of the service. Officiating: Pastor Leo Davis. Interment will take place at Spring Hill Cemetery, immediately following the service.
