WESTVILLE - Marianne Rose Moreman, 80, of Westville, Ill., was taken to Heaven by the angels at 3:30 a.m. Monday, January 15, 2018, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Ill.
Marianne was born August 19, 1937, to Andrew and Julia (Gailus) Karushis.
She married Linden Gene Moreman May 3, 1958, at St. Peter & Paul in Westville. They were married 35 years until his death on September 6, 1993. They had three children, Paula, Gerald and Kenny.
She is survived by her children Paula Miller and Kenny (Lori) Moreman; grandchildren, Misty Moreman, Bobby Pundt, Matthew (Kayla) Moreman, Jill (Trent) Smith, Kristen Moreman and Jessica (Jerry) Ricketts; great-grandchildren, Austin Thompson (fiancee Lexi Biage), Finley Smith, Zoey Moreman, Sullivan Smith and one due in July; a brother, Andy (Joyce) Karushis; a sister, Christine Karushis; sisters-in-law, Ruth Karuzis, Amy Keen and Kathleen Murray; brother-in-law, Dean Blakeney; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Julia; her husband, Linden; her son, Gerald; her great-granddaughter, Dazia; her brother, Leonard; and sisters Sylvia and Alberta.
Over the years, she belonged to bowling leagues at Lincoln Lanes, Bulan's and Westville Legion. She was a past Legion Auxiliary member. She loved working in her flower gardens, doing bead work, building puzzles, playing Yahtzee and doing her fill-in books every day.
Marianne graduated from Schlarman High School in 1956 and worked at General Electric Valmont for 28 years.
Funeral service: 2:30 p.m. Thursday, January 18, 2018, at Robison Chapel in Catlin with Father Timothy Sauppe officiating. Burial in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Westville. Visitation from 1:30 p.m. until service time Thursday at Robison Chapel with Rosary at 1 p.m.
