Marian Faye Lumsargis, 80 of Westville, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017 at 8:10 AM at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born October 25, 1936 in Danville the daughter of Vernon and Faith Lenora Erwin. On July 5, 1952 she married the love of her life, Walter Lumsargis, Jr. at The Congregational Church in Westville. He preceded her in death on November 10, 1995.
Marian will be sadly missed by her children, Deb (Paul) Stark of Westville, Patti Lumsargis of Georgetown, and Keith Lumsargis of Westville; grandchildren, Jaime (Collin) Lehr, Amanda Stark, Nikki, Samantha, Heather, and Amber; great-grandchildren, Paige, Erica, Colby, Nora, Haylieh Jo, Abigail, Cody, Katelyn, Gavin, Samuel, Izzy, Jacey, Kerry, Macy, and Payton; brother, Jerry Erwin of Tilton; sisters, Marilyn (Ray) Parish of Batestown, Lona Reed of Henning, and Carla (Tony) Wade of Oakwood; as well as many other relatives and loving friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Denny Erwin; and sister, Helen Louise Erwin.
Marian had various jobs: a playground monitor at Judith Giacoma Elementary School, Vermilion County Board member, a beautician, and at Burgoynes Flower shop, but the job title she loved the most was "mom". She loved being with her kids, grandkids, and family. She was a member of the Georgetown Eastern Star.
Marian took pride in her beautiful garden and flowers. You could usually find her sitting by the window in her dining room, reading her novels, drinking her coffee, and looking up from time to time to check on the neighborhood. She didn't miss a thing that was happening outside. Marian's favorite season was fall. On Halloween she handed out candy with joy and had so much fun looking at all the different costumes. Marian left a lasting impression on all she knew and will be greatly missed.
A celebration of Marian's life will be held at 12 PM Friday, April 14, 2017 at Sunset-Urbas Funeral Chapel, 414 S. State Street, Westville. Pastor James Blue will officiate with words from her brother-in-law, Ray Parish. She will be laid to rest at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Westville at a later date. Visitation will be from 10-12PM prior to services at the funeral home. Please join her family in sharing memories on her tribute wall at www.sunsetfuneralhome.com.
