Margaret's Story

Margaret Louise George, 95 of Okemos, Mich., and formerly of Danville, went Home to be with The Lord on Saturday, May 27, 2017, at Sparrow Hospital in Michigan.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 5, 2017, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 824 E. Main St., Danville, with Pastor Kent Tibben officiating. Visitation will be at the church for one hour prior. Following services, Margaret will be laid to rest in Lutheran Cemetery beside her husband, Jack.
Margaret was born Feb. 11, 1922, in Danville to Leon and Lottie (Kuemmerle) Miller. She attended Douglas Grade School and Danville High School, graduating in 1940.
Margaret became a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in 1941, when she was married there in 1941, and later became the Secretary for over 25 years. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Women's Bowling Association, and also was an avid golfer who had the lifetime achievement of a hole in one. Margaret loved her church, her family and was a friend to everyone she met.
Margaret married Jack George on Oct. 25, 1941, in Danville. He preceded her in death on July 14, 1984.
Survivors include her children, Howard (Elaine) George, Judy (William "Bill") Stuebe and Jerry (Cathy) George; four grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack; an infant granddaughter, Sally Jo Stuebe; and two brothers, Orville and Howard Miller.
