Marcia Sue Bolser, 76, of Fairmount, Ill., passed away at Pleasant Meadows Senior Living in Chrisman, Ill., on Tuesday, November 14, 2017, with family by her side.
Marcia was born the daughter of Walter and Dorothea (Miller) Davis on December 2, 1940, in Kankakee, Ill.
Marcia married Clark Bolser on October 9, 2001, in Gatlinburg, Tenn. He preceded her in death on March 23, 2016.
Marcia leaves behind one son, David Gerdes of Evansville, Ind.; one daughter, Julie (Jay) Fruhling of Fairmount; one stepson, Mark (Ginna) Bolser; four grandchildren, Colby Fruhling, Whitney Fruhling, Jesse Fruhling and Thea (Luke) Gernand; two great grandchildren, Kelly Cochran and Georgia Fruhling; two brothers, Jerry Davis and Scott Davis; four step-grandchildren, Kaelin Sager, Owen Bolser, Kristopher Bolser and Madelyn Bolser; and many nieces and nephews.
Marcia was preceded in death by her father, Walter; mother, Dorothea; her stepfather, Fred Fitzimmons; one brother, Ronald Davis; sister, Shirley Davis-Johnson; stepbrother, Bob Fitzimmons; and stepsisters Connie Turpin and Carole Latoz.
Marcia loved the Lord and was a member of Catlin Church of Christ, where she was involved in the Lois and Eunice Circle. She enjoyed working out in the yard with her gardening and flowers, an avid garage saler and cheering on the Illini and the Cubs. Most of all, it was the time she spent with her friends and family that she treasured the most.
A Celebration of Marcia's life will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 19, at Sunset Funeral Home, 3940 N. Vermilion St., Danville, with Pastor Chris Lawler officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Catlin, Ill. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Saturday, November 18, at the funeral home.
