Loran L. Bowman, 78, of McLeansboro and formerly of Bradley, died Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2015, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. He was born Nov. 15, 1936, in Pittsburg, the son of Lewis Daniel Bowman and Verla (Smith) Bowman. He married Anna Louise Gibbs on June 8, 1957; she survives in McLeansboro. In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Mark Bowman and wife Sharon of Bradley; two daughters, Katherine Genovese and husband Mario of Franklin, Tenn. and Lisa Bach and husband Dan of Rockford; one sister, Helen Campbell and husband Hobert of Macedonia; two brothers, Dwight Bowman and wife Brenda of McLeansboro and Eugene Bowman and wife Norma of Enfield; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Roy Lee, Charles and Dean; one sister, Betty Louise; one sister-in-law, Edna Marie Bowman; and one son-in-law, Jeffrey Duffield. He served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1962 during the Berlin Crisis. After returning home from the service, he worked for 42 years at Kankakee Container as a Press Operator. Funeral services were held 12 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, at Schreffler Funeral Home Kankakee Chapel with the Rev. Davey Post officiating. The visitation was held 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, at Schreffler Funeral Home. Burial was at Kankakee Memorial Gardens. Visit Schrefflerfuneralhomes.com to sign the online guestbook.
