Logan 'YoYo''s Story

Text size

Logan Alexander Lillard, 23, of Danville, Ill., was granted his angel wings on October 1, 2017, at Presence Covenant Medical Center, Urbana, Ill.
Logan was born September 1, 1994, in Danville, the son of Randy Scott Lillard Sr. and Lillian Michelle Lillard.
Logan played baseball for Prairie Farms as a child, then proceeded to play for Danville High School years later after multiple leg surgeries. He graduated from Danville High School in 2013.
As a high school senior, Logan was offered numerous academic scholarships to various colleges and universities. However, he attended the University of Illinois majoring in Agricultural Biological Engineering. He was a brilliant straight 'A' student, using his intellectual mind, hard work and determination to finish his last semester of undergraduate studies. He spent countless number of hours in the library and was on track to graduate December 22, 2017.
Logan was known for his creativity, smile, outgoing personality and kind heart. His hobbies include: gaming, drawing, painting, watching/playing sports, hanging with "the 2Timezz crew" as well as his many cousins, lifelong and short-term friends. He was an avid drawer and recently picked up the skill of painting.
He had a very contagious smile just like his dad and would make the corniest jokes to entertain others. They were hardly ever funny, but his own smile made others smile. His jokes and his outgoing personality are why people gravitated toward him. YoYo would give his last for his parents, siblings, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Logan leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Lillian Michelle Lillard of Danville; one sister, Ashley Brooke Lillard of Nashville, Tenn.; his three brothers, Randy Scott Lillard Jr. of Nashville, Tenn., Collis Deaunta Lillard of Danville, and Justin Randall (Paige) March-Lillard of Seattle, Wash; his two nieces, Aubree Michelle Valcourt and Ameila Marie Lillard; his four nephews, Collis Deaunta Lillard Jr., Najari Amani Lillard, Carter Alexander Lillard and Jaxon Randy March; his favorite cousin/twin sister, Kalynn Mason; his best friends Kylen Butler, Devante (LeeJohn) Hodges, Jarhed Watson, Jylian McQuown, Davion Watson; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Logan was preceded in death by his father, Randy Scott Lillard Sr.; his paternal grandparents, Theotto "Sonny" Lillard and Mandy Othella Lillard; and his maternal grandparents, Geneieve and Warvick March.
A Celebration of Life will commence at noon, Tuesday, October 10, at New Life Church of Faith, 1419 N. Bowman Ave., Danville. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday until the start of the service. Officiating: Elder Lamar Coleman Sr. Interment: Spring Hill Cemetery. A public viewing will commence from 1-5 p.m. Monday, October 9, at Leek & Sons Funeral Home, 304 E. Williams St., Danville.
