Leila Lorenzen Leila Ann Lorenzen, 88, of Paris, Ill., and formerly of Chrisman, passed away at 1:41 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2019, in The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute, Ind.
She was a homemaker and a nurse at Lakeview Hospital in Danville.
Services are 10 a.m., Tuesday March 12, at Grace Lutheran Church with Pastor Ryan Taylor and Pastor Daniel Smith officiating. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday March 11, in Grace Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Hoult Cemetery. Stewart and Carroll Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to Lincoln Land Hospice or The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care or Grace Lutheran Church in care of the funeral home.
Leila was born May 24, 1930, in Tangier, Ind., the daughter of the late Webb and Shiloh Hoyt Conner.
She married John T. Lorenzen on March 20, 1951. He passed away May 27, 1998.
Leila is survived by her children, Steven (Vicki) Lorenzen of Chrisman, Nancy (William) Sanders of Grand Isle, La., Jeannie (Brad) Taylor of Oakland, Ill., Cindy (Hans) Andreasen of Terre Haute, Ind., and John S. Lorenzen of Chrisman; her grandchildren, Stephanie (Brian) Rhoads, Sunny (Todd) Hughes, Robert Lorenzen, Leila D. (Mark) Van Gemert, Nathan (Sarah) Andreasen, Nicholas (Brittany) Andreasen, Erin (Jake) Mooney, Cole Taylor, Ryan (Becky) Taylor, John (Mary) Arrasmith, Gwendolyn (Randy) Lucas, Josh (Julie) Sanders, Zachary Lorenzen, Alyx (Tyler) Owen; her 23 great-grandchildren, with one expected in August; her siblings, Wanda Lou Ellis of Albany, Mo., and Charles (Lucy) Conner of Alton, Ill.
She is preceded in death by her sister, Carol Barger, and her daughter-in-law, Carmen Lorenzen.
Leila was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the Altar Guild, the Ladies Aid and served on the Lutheran Village Board. She also was involved with PTA in Scottland, the Edgar County Home Extension, Priscilla Club and as a 4-H Leader in Scottland.
