Kenneth P. Willis, 84, of McLeansboro, passed away 1:20 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, at SSM Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, at Ten Mile Missionary Baptist Church in McLeansboro.
Funeral service will be 12 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, at Ten Mile Baptist Church in McLeansboro with Pastor Jacob Gray officiating. Graveside military rites will be provided by American Legion Post 106, McLeansboro and Military Honor Team of Marion. Burial will be at Ten Mile Cemetery in McLeansboro.
He was born Aug. 24, 1933, in Norris City, the son of Alfred Willis and Annabelle (McKenzie) Willis. He married Wilma Bennett on Nov. 20, 1955, at Ten Mile Church.
Kenneth worked as a farmer and a coal miner. He was a member and deacon of Ten Mile Baptist Church in McLeansboro. Kenneth served in the U.S. Army during Korean War and was stationed in Germany.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Willis of McLeansboro; two sons, Stephen Willis of McLeansboro and Stanley Kent Willis and wife Sheila of McLeansboro; two daughters, Julie Brenner and husband Greg of McLeansboro and Jennifer Parker and husband David of McLeansboro; seven grandchildren, Kelly Jerrells, Michael Brenner, Tristan Willis, Chelsea Yeager, Jason Willis, Christopher Willis and Camryn Parker; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Margaret Morgan of Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Marcus; and sister, Lavonne Willis.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ten Mile Baptist Church and will be accepted at the church or Harre Funeral Home.
