Kelly Ann Shelato, 59 of Catlin, passed away on Wednesday, Jan 24, 2018. Kelly was born Feb. 10, 1958, in Danville, the daughter of Frank and Phyllis Burroughs. She married the love of her life, Mike Shelato, and together they raised two sons, Matthew and Eric.
Kelly will be remembered as a wild and free spirit with a heart of gold and turquoise who danced to the beat of no one's drum but her own. She loved story-telling and reading so much that she chose to share her gifts with the community by working as a librarian in both Danville and Catlin. She felt a deep connection to her Native American roots her entire life and used her talent as an artist to express this love. She cherished nature and never let an animal in need down. Kelly greets her father on the other side and lives on through her mother, Phyllis; her husband, Mike; her sons, Matt (Stacey) & Eric (Megan); her grandchildren, Austin, Owen, Quentin and Caleb; her sister, Kim (Greg); her nieces and nephews, Gretchen, Luke, Grace, Jason, Josh, Jeremy, Dustin and her English bulldog, Marsha.
A service in her honor will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2018, at Pape Family Funeral Home, 10 E. Williams St. in Danville, with Pastor Raymie Gordon officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior. Messages and memories may be left on our website at www.papefuneral.com, or on the Pape Family Funeral Home Facebook page.
