DANVILLE - Kathryn A. Cooper, 91, passed away at 7:22 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center, Danville.
Kathryn was born on Dec. 13, 1925, in Jonesboro, Ind., to C.W. "Tate" Swingley and Martha MacDonald Swingley.
She married W. Dale Cooper on July 29, 1943. He preceded her in death on May 13, 1970.
Surviving her are three sons, Stephen Cooper of Clinton Ind., Jeffrey Cooper (Lisa) of Danville, and Gregory Cooper (Debbie) of Plano, Texas; eight grandchildren, Rana, Morgan, Grant, Teresa, Alora, Lee, Sara, and Jeremiah; five great-grandchildren, Christopher, Chloe, Gabriel, Brecken and Abraham; and two sisters, Barbara Laughlin (Bob) and Shirley Weaver (Merrill)
She was also preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Sierra; and daughter-in-law, Sallie.
Kathryn worked for 23 years in the administrative offices of Mississinewa Community Schools and 19 years in the administrative offices of Danville District 118 Schools.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 24 at 1 p.m. (EST) at Estates of Serenity in Marion, Ind.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Kathryn's name to Gas City Methodist Church, First United Methodist Church of Danville, or to any favorite organization or charity of the donor's choice.
